There is much to look forward to on Amazon Primary this month, especially if you’re a sports fan as there is something here for football and baseball fans alike. On the movie front, Paul Thomas Anderson’s Licorice Pizza makes its way to the platform and so too does Ron Howard’s Thirteen Lives , which tells of a gripping, real-life disaster.

As is usually the case with Amazon Prime, we don’t have the full list of what is coming in Aug so the following are just highlights. Titles tend to drop randomly throughout the month so you can expect more shows and movies to drop at a moment’s notice.

Arsenal: All Or Nothing

After taking their cameras behind the particular scenes of football clubs Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, Prime Video now turn their attention in order to Arsenal because they track the players and staff of the Gunners during the 2021/2022 season. If you’re an Arsenal fan, you will get an extra kick out of this but soccer fans of all kinds should enjoy the insights that are delivered here.

Thirteen Lives (2022)

In 2018, twelve boys and their own soccer team coach became trapped underground when a sudden rainstorm flooded the caves they were exploring. A desperate rescue mission was launched to get everybody out alive but the particular task was harder than anybody expected. Ron Howard’s new film chronicles the events surrounding this gripping true-life tale that takes place in Northern Thailand. Viggo Mortensen and Colin Farrell star as the particular British cave divers who took part in the daring mission in order to save the lives from the young people in peril.

A League Of Their Own: Season 1

Based on Penny Marshall’s 1992 film of the same name, the series tells the story of the particular women’s professional baseball league which was created during the time of the second world war to keep sports fans happy and to boost morale. Nick Offerman takes upon the coaching role that was played by Tom Hanks within the movie plus Abbi Jacobson (who also writes & produces), Chanté Adams, and D’Arcy Carden are among the cast of women taking on the roles from the female baseball gamers.

Moonfall (2022)

It’s the particular end of the world as we know it. Again! Roland Emmerich lays waste to the Earth for the umpteenth time but unlike his past disaster flicks, including The Day After Tomorrow and 2012 , this one really is a disaster! Moonfall did little to impress audiences or critics due to its implausible plot, ridiculous dialogue, and cheap-looking special effects. Patrick Wilson and Halle Berry do what they can with the insipid script yet, to be honest, this is one movie that barely achieves lift-off!

14th August

An American Pickle (2020)

Seth Rogen’s character falls into the vat associated with brine and is preserved for 100 years. When he wakes up from their extended slumber, he discovers a world far different to the particular one this individual left behind in 1920. This fish out of vinegar story ought to have been funny but sadly, it’s all a bit of a chore. Rogen does his best but the movie fails as both a comedy and a satire upon modern culture.

19th Aug

Making The Cut: Time of year 3

Heidi Klum plus Tim Gunn return with regard to the third season from the fashion-competition collection in which usually a bunch of fashion designers from around the globe compete for the $1 million prize and the mentorship with Amazon Fashion. Sadly, the robot costume I produced from cardboard boxes and pipe cleaners didn’t make the cut – it is their loss!

21st August

Memory (2022)

Liam Neeson stars as the assassin-for-hire whose life will be reversed when he becomes the target after refusing to complete a job for a criminal organization. Martin Campbell’s movie will be better compared to the recent Blacklight , which I called the ‘action movie equivalent of a budget microwave meal’ in my less than flattering review, but this particular is still far through Neeson’s or even Campbell’s best work. Ironically, given the particular title, this is 1 movie you are destined in order to forget soon after watching.

Dog (2022)

Channing Tatum directs and stars in this particular road trip film about two Army rangers, one of which usually, unsurprisingly,   is a dog. While this won’t go down within history as one of the best dog movies of all time , it’s still an enjoyable watch, particularly if you’re a fan of Tatum or movies that will headline the canine celebrity. Unlike a lot of movies within the doggy genre, this isn’t as mawkish or since heart-tugging as you might expect, so you won’t need very many handkerchiefs whenever you follow the unlikely twosome’s adventures on the road.

23rd September

Tomb Raider (2018)

Alicia Vikander stars as Lara Croft in this latest adaptation of the popular video game series plus it’s much better than the Angelina Jolie movies that came before. It’s a lot closer to the Burial place Raider games as well, with its double-gunned action scenes, puzzle-solving sequences, and actual tomb raiding. Still, if you are keen on the games, you will be disappointed that will Lara never heals herself with magical medipacks, in no way saves her progress in the movie using the floaty blue crystal, and never traps her butler in a mansion refrigerator! Other than those flaws, the particular movie gets a lot of things right yet if you were hoping to see Vikander in a sequel anytime soon, you’re away from luck, as Deadline recently reported the role is to be recast.

26th August

Untrapped: The particular Story associated with Lil Baby

This documentary details the meteoric rise to fame of Grammy-winning rapper Lil Baby, from his early run-ins using the law on the streets of West Atlanta to their billboard-topping success as the music artist after being released through incarceration. Not only is Lil Child (real title Dominique Armani Jones) a single of hip-hop’s biggest celebrities but he is also among pop culture’s most important voices in the fight for racial justice. Using never before seen footage, director Karam Gill explores the life of the star and how he managed to make both a musical plus cultural impact, despite the systemic oppression associated with people of colour that still exists in society.

Samaritan (2022)

The world isn’t short of superhero movies but if you’re looking for something a little lower-key compared to big-budget movies of the particular MCU, a person might want to check out this one particular. Sylvester Stallone stars as former super-hero Samaritan who was thought to have perished after a good epic battle with his nemesis 25 years earlier. He has already been living existence anonymously as a garbage collector ever since but when 13-year-old Sam Cleary (Javon “Wanna” Walton) recognises the former crime fighter, he is coaxed out associated with his seclusion to fight crime inside the city.

Licorice Pizza (2021)

Liquorice pizza is usually disgusting! I’m talking about the ‘food’ rather than the movie, of course , while Paul Jones Anderson’s comedy/romance/coming-of-age flick is definitely something of a delight, even in case it’s not because good since some of his previous works, such as the multi-stranded Magnolia which sits within my personal top 10 of ‘best’ films. Talented young actors Cooper Hoffman and Alana Haim superstar since the couple experiencing the joys and tribulations of first love and they are usually surrounded by a starry cast, which includes Sean Penn, Tom Waits, and Bradley Cooper.
